Formally notified as a Tiger Reserve in 2008 it was a royal hunting ground but now it emerged as an example of conservation in India. PTR is part of the Terai Arc Landscape, and a key area of tiger movement between the Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary part of Dudhwa Tiger Reserve, and the forest reserve area of Pilibhit.

Discover Chuka - Uttar Pradesh’s Only Beach at Pilibhit Tiger Reserve
Situated in the clean wilderness of Pilibhit Tiger Reserve is Chuka Eco-Tourism Spot which happens to be one of the most unique places in northern India. Built off the sparkling Sharda Sagar Dam, Chuka is a place where you get the feel of a beach-like retreat at the center of a forest jungle- the only beach-like sight in Uttar Pradesh.

Best Time to Visit Pilibhit Tiger Reserve
The most appropriate time to visit Pilibhit Tiger Reserve is between October to April. Pilibhit Tiger Reserve is best visited between November and June. These are the months that have the ideal combination of favorable weather, good visibility, and the activity of the wildlife is enhanced. The period between November and February is excellent for birdwatching and cool jungle safari.
The best time to visit is between March and June when tigers, elephants, and other animals can be viewed drinking water. The reserve is closed between the monsoon (July to October) due to forest conservation and the safety of the visitors.

I did not know such a beach-like area looks like existed in UP until I went to Chuka! A small stay in the tree hut was very primitive and surrealistic located in the middle of the forest.
