Safari Zones
Jungle safari is done in buffer and core areas especially permitted areas of the reserve and one of the most beautiful aspects of the same is the Chuka Eco-Tourism Spot better known as the only forest beach in Uttar Pradesh. Chuka Beach is the place where the wildness of the jungle and the calmness of the water intersect as it can be seen overlooking the Sharda Sagar Dam. The safari tracks usually go around this quiet location as it is an opportunity that one rarely gets to see nature in a split personality and savage simultaneously.
PTR provides safari in several zones which are all interesting and have diverse wildlife richness:
Mahof Gate (Zone 1) - The most calm and wildlife-infested entry of Pilibhit Tiger reserve is Mahof Gate. This area is covered with sal forests, which are great in terms of tiger sightseeing and also provide deer and colorful birds. The fact that it is located in a quiet environment creates an ideal location to nature lovers and photographers.
Barahi Gate (Zone 2) - Barahi Gate has created an alternate safari path in Pilibhit Tiger Reserve that has extensive grasslands, abundant flora and more tiger mobility. It is an ideal place where adventurous tourists will find new territories of wildlife, open open landscapes in association with adventurous jungle safari.
Mustafabad Gate (Flexible Zone Access) - Mustafabad Gate has options of either Zone 1 or Zone 2, depending on the availability of permits. This is the only benefit that gives visitors the opportunity to choose the optimal route to take during their safari on the actual day of traveling, leaving them with the best possibilities of sightseeing wildlife and tigers.
Each of the zones is different and possesses its ecology and diversity of wildlife.
Timings & Seasons in Safari
Safaris take place twice a day:
- Morning Safari: 6:30 AM -10:30 AM
